Not sure how many members there are in South Australia but just in case there are any who are contemplating an ATM upgrade here’s the lowdown.
Just had an ATM upgrade done on our Pop Top Expanda by RV Trailers;
Unit 2, 1 Pentland St. Salisbury South.
Geoff (the boss) is an engineer and has been involved in the RV and Trailer industry all his working life and is RTA accredited to do trailer/ van upgrades.
I phoned him and he said he could help me.
The requirements for the upgrade were:
1. Empty caravan for an accurate tare weights
2. Certified weighbridge docket with GTM and ATM weights
3. Current registration papers
We weighed our caravan at Pooraka Sand & Metal received a certificate and went to Geoff’s workshop. On the spot he inspected the van, suspension, tyres and A-frame. With what he saw with the breakaway system he could legally take me to 2450kgs which is an increase of 300kgs. This change has made us legal.
Geoff completed the necessary paperwork, dealt with Regency Park, removed the old compliance plate and fitted the new one.
Cost $450.
