Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if you can legally and be fully insured towing the new 1756.2 Outback with a TD Prado as they have a limit of 2500kg. Looks like the 1756.2 Outback comes in at 2571kg these are heavier then the previous model. Any feedback would be great.

Same issue here @JOBSWAN with the same tug and van. Just get the spec plate made to 2500kg (Caravanland in WA agreed to do it for mine) if you are concerned as the opinion (and advice) seems to differ greatly. The only undisputed fact is the insurer MUST prove that an overloaded van contributed to the cause of a crash if you were so unlucky.

Lots of discussions on this topic already @JOBSWAN ... General (unofficial) consensus is.
1. Get the name plate changed.
2. Legal.... Maybe if you are actually under the 2500kg limit.
3. Fully Insured..... Probably not!!!!! If the van is totally written off (Touching wood that it doesn't happen to anyone) the Insurance company will use the 2571kg value.

Thanks for that @dagree and @Cheyne78. My thoughts exactly, this is making my decision to go the -1 and not the -2. Even though I would love the 2 not prepared to risk it all. Thanks for your feed back really appreciate it. :):cheer2:

Another thing is keep an eye on extras like solar ,extra battery ,water tanks ,longer draw bar etc as it will eat into your payload .
