Hi guys,

I have been having a hard time making the final decision on which van to buy. There is so many layouts but I am still finding it hard to find a van that ticks ALL the boxes.

I was convinced the 20.63 was the one but the bunks are smaller then the 18.57. The kids are 9 & 7 so the bunks are fine now but maybe not in 3-4 years.

I know they are new layouts but was wondering if anyone has bought either and has any words of wisdom.

cheers

Welcome anton,
I don't know much about the 20' but i do have the 18-57-6 and it suits the four of us perfectly. I was concerned about the length of the bunks untill i laid on the bottom bunk and just fitted head to foot and i'm 192cm tall. Not sure what else i can say except it ticked all our boxes, the 18' will also fit on most sites as it's the same length as the 16' extended. Good luck with your choice, i guess if you have the storage room then it just comes down to dollars, having said that though and now knowing about the bunk length and growing kids i'd go the 18'!

Cheers.

went to Jayco Prestige in Bendigo and Geelong last couple of weeks checked out the 20ft Expanda liked the separate toilet shower , however, did not like the lack of room getting out of the shower , Don't know about bunk sizes , but we a re at the opposite end of the market in a couple of years time looking to get a sterling as the kids are getting older and soon don't want to come away any more

Thanks for your replies. I seem to be going around in circles but at least narrowed it down to these two vans after first deciding to buy the OB Starcraft 22ft.

The difference in price I have been quoted is only $2k so value for money the 20.63 seems to be the best choice. Now whether to fork out another $1800 for the slide out. Great value I think.

There is a thread somewhere on the value (or lack of) on the 20.63. For me it's kind watershed being the lounge, which is already huge in the std 20. I would love o see it slide out to make the kitchen area bigger. Do a search on 20.63

What about the StarCraft with the fold up bunk beds and back door. Great van for 2 kids.

The Starcraft ticks a lot of boxes. There were a couple of negatives though. The main bed is small, lucky to be a double and there is more storage in the Expanda. The Starcraft bunks are way bigger though.

I am sure I'll work it out. Paying a deposit normally makes the decision a lot easier.
