Thanks to this thread, I have learned a crap load more about how the toilet works.

One thing I have wondered is how to get into the holding tank and clean it properly.

Well this video shows how simple it is.

Pity the user manual doesn't go into this much detail.

So it still reeks after soaking up the excrement in the overflow pods and through the cavity.....what would be the best thing to use to remove the residue...spray and wipe??
Was it curd or just liquid man it must have been very full or going with flusher closed for a while i spray disenfectant in there it should go as it dryes out unless its traped in spots you cant get to

My user manual and the one you can download online shows how to open the thing up..!!!!!!!!....I read it after I had buggered around working it out with much cursing, someone did say "read the manual "..........and lo and behold it showed my how to do it, I was amazed.........washed our unit all out with dishwashing liquid as it was handy then gave it a dose of diluted demestos later on, no stink but if you don't flush the holding tank after dumping or are a bit tight on the stuff you chuck in it, it can pong.............mind, no nice way to put it but "Turds in there" is really only an emergency or you will pay the price.....

What model toilet do you have?
The cavity at the bottom of mine is for the factory automatic ventilator, also on mine (not sure about your as I don't know which model you have) there is a breather valve that when you push the cassette in it automatically opens up. Inside the tank the breather seal is part of a float that when the contents slosh around or get to full it should float up and seal. If your float is a bit stiff or has some crap stuck on the seal this will also cause some minor spillage.

If there's a residual wee smell, vinegar is your friend. Buy a big bottle and flood it (again).
Urine smell comes from ammonia. The acidity in the vinegar eliminates the strong alkaline smell from the ammonia. The vinegar smell will disappear over a short period of time whereas the ammonia smell tends to hang around a long time.

And you can buy fish and chips at the end of the job to use what's left.

@Marv_mart, this video is the same model as ours.

It shows the reed switch replacement in the toilet.

The magnet on the float inside the cassette activates the reed switch to turn on the light when it moved close to this board

Thanks for that video, yes, makes sense now. What about the the floating magnet in the cassette, replaceable?

Is there any reason you can't leave the 240 switch turned on all the time while traveling between parks with power? Just plug water in first to make sure there is water in hot water unit? Just a thought.

The float and magnet assembly is also replacable
