Here are a few pics of my 17 foot storage box and spare wheel mods.
Spare wheel is held together with a hilux spare wheel winch $25 from wreckers.
I welded a C section in where the original wheel holder was.
Genny slide was purchased off ebay for $80.
Total cost for this mod was around $1100.

Cheers

The draw bar is standard length.
The extra space makes setting & packing up a lot quicker.
The standard front boot on these vans is great but you tend to keep most items packed all over each other.

Did you make this tool box yourself or did someone make it for you and if so where did you get it done as i'm interested to get one for my van. Thanks

I had the toolbox made by an aluminum manufacturer in Melbourne.
The generator door and slide setup were done by me.
I also sorted the spare wheel mods.
Here is the web address for the aluminum manufacturer.

if you need any other info let me know.

Hi Mate, great job, are you able to share more information and photos on how you did the spare wheel, I have a wind up Spare Wheel Winch assembly off a HiLux which I plan on using and was curious how you did yours. Did you weld a new Cross beam for the Winch assebmly or is it sitting on the tool box. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. David

I welded a cross beam c channel to the A.
Small section was notched out of the bottom of the c channel to fit the wheel winch.
Also welded some metal tyre supports to the c section to stop the tyre swaying.
Will post some more pics shortly.
