Well I dug out The Jeep Book and had a look at my scale figures from way back in 21, the GVM being 2949kgs mine rang the scales at 2.66t, in its around town load .o_O............................ so that left it with 289kgs, once I subtracted the BW it meant one bum and half a tank of fuel, so naturally I just ignored it all ............
If you want to compare later my front axle pinged at 1460 (1452) and rear went 1200 (1677), the brackets are the max load which doesn't really add up as the plate said GVM 2949 axle totals are a lot more .............. its all done by maths, hence the little numbers.... a few years later with my portable scales I was getting a 2380kg roof rack with one bum and the axles where in a better zone which I put down to some suspension changes in front springs and air bags but still was bugga all left to seriously go on tour............ The WG was in the same boat so the WK2 came as no surprise, I shudder when I see the tinnies on racks on them as you know they aren't within cooee ..... My figures are based on a Laredo the other models have less as they can start off 50kg heavier.....
Big Mal surprised me after I did the maths and a clear out and remodel its got some Kg to spare at the start of a trip but depending where we are it may be a tad over with extra water and fuel.... Bad news is to get the Jeep trimmed it needs to be back to stock really, thats what I had worked out from some simple maths......
With Henry in town load, take away the BW and we have just under 500kgs left to chuck stuff in the back, last time I weighed the gear and I'm just adding under 300kg so long as I don't fill the water tank and with Big Mal hooked up I'm still under bingo, at about 5.8t but would like a bit more as weights can move a hundred or so easily enough...

@Hitting the road , curious just what GCM they used for the Grand, my 2015 had nothing on the plate .

I had to supply all the numbers that are not on the plate...that said they didn't ,look at the compliance plate on the Jeep anyway, only the one on the van. I had supplied Jeep weights so I guess they had no need to. The weights I quoted were 2949kg GVM, and 6099kg GCM and 3500kg tow capacity.
They didn't concern them selves with the actual axle weights against manufacturer rated weights.

The weigh in results have back for the combination with; GCM compliant, Towing capacity compliant, (that is under 3500kg). GVM unhitched compliant, and caravan GTM compliant.
I came unstuck with ATM - 55kg over, and Jeep GVM hitched - 86kg over.

The jeep is heavy over the front axle unhitched by 28kg at 1480kg, (1452kg rated) while the rear axle is well under at 1310kg of 1678kg rated.
When hitched up front axle is 52kg under, while rear axle is 38kg under....all good, but over GVM by 91kg on the day.

Same applies for the van, GTM fine at 2460kg of 2503kg. But unhooked the ATM is 2710kg of 2655kg, over by 55kg.

Not a bad result really overall, if I left the front water tank empty when traveling it would maybe reduce the ATM to maybe around 2630kg. That would also drop a little off the ball weight, then remove some tools and carry some grog in the van instead of the fridge in the back of the Jeep...could possibly lose maybe up to 50kg on the towball....so Jeep would still be over but not by 91kg, and every other weight legal. Dropping the towball weight would not be my choice, it sits around 9% currently, 8% - 10% is the recommendation as we know....so could lose a little as the Jeep would still be a few hundred kilo's heavier than the van...the van does tow stable with an empty front water tank...

Makes you wonder just what the front end weighed when on the wharf ????

I have in my book a GVM of 2949kg but have 2 for GCM as just couldn't get factual figure, 5980 or 6099kg, and with the Laredo having the best carrying cap of them all to be safe I based my calc's on the 5980 figure which didn't matter anyway as it would always be over...

Axle weights when added together will always be more than the GVM total ................ simple maths shows it can't drag 3.5t van
