I need to replace the awning material only. It measures 3.1 Mtrs (10 feet 2 inches in the old school). Seen them on eBay for about $150. But don't know if these are cheap knock-offs. Can install myself with a friend. Any thoughts my good people?

I've done one replace the vinyl with a fella, it was a pain to do, about the same age and the barrel packed it in 6 mths later so then he went with a new awning with barre and it took us half the time ... If the awning vinyl is dying from old age then the barrel insides are probably the same ............ Have replaced a few awnings for myself and mates, certainly one with a barrel is far quicker and once fitted doesn't need any revisit ...... If you look at https://www.caravansplus.com.au/ they will show you a price range for your model, also has a measuring diagram so you get the size right then you can shop around, I bought my last awning from https://www.outbackequipment.com.au/ in Brissie, genuine job and quick to deliver, another storm damage and was cheaper than the insurance excess and less hassle, took 1.5 hrs as Big Mal is Big..............

Thank you so much Drover. I will follow your advice. I'm really glad I asked the question.

Good move. The vinyl-only swap can look like the cheap option, but if the roller/barrel or springs are already tired it can turn into doing the job twice.

When you measure up, double-check the awning model and fabric length rather than just the van length, as the Expanda sizes can catch people out. CaravansPlus’ measuring guide is handy for that, then you can compare suppliers once you know exactly what you need. Let us know what you end up fitting — it’ll help the next 14.44-5 owner.
