Anybody replaced the shocks on the JTech suspension .If so what was used.Pedders will not tell me if they have a direct replacement. They supply the shocks to Jayco.

No numbers on them at all ??

You can always measure them up, full extend, closed, size of mounts, shafts etc and then compare with others, they certainly would be a common off shelf sizing I reckon.

Would Jayco be able to help, or a Jayco service centre.

I bought Jayco (Pedders) replacements on 3 days ago from a dealer after I got the same Pedders response as you did. I ended up with two differing pairs, only one pair has the web retention strap, and of those two the hose clamps are loose and one is missing. Needless to say they are going back. The price I paid was $500, which isnt tooooo bad for 40mm foam, but I suspect in my case maybe theyve ditched the web strap in the current shocks and theyve given me 2 x from the antique stock supply

Pedders and Jayco have a contract re supply ie Pedders can only supply them to Jayco and no-one else and if a franchise is caught supplying direct they will be in breach of that contract. I dont think the franchises can even get them

If your not is a huge hurry watch this space, and Ill get back to you with what I end up doing .... I have a devilishly clever plan

Eyelet size, weight of the van is the other issues, and with independent suspension there needs to be some kind of keeper to stop the shocks from over extending either on the shock itself as in the web straps on the factory shocks, or from the frame to the chassis

The numbers on the Jayco / Pedders shocks are unique to them, they are metals stamped Jayco

Thought I may be able increase damping a little if possible .Definately would need the webbing strap of some sort.

Over extension strap/chain/cable shouldnt be a drama to knock up, pretty common fitting........ Shocks dont carry the load they just absorb the movement...

Update @BJM

My original devilishly clever plan imploded. All is not lost tho, turns out the whole time I know (and forgot I knew) a dude who's an industry expert running an approved SSM business, and as fate would have it he not only has the same van as me, he too also requires replacement shocks so he's doing the leg work for us. Other research confirms Pedders are just junk, being a one size single part number that's fitted to all OBs (excluding Silverlines).
