Got the sign off sheet today. All looks good.
noticed on the top it had "date requested" of 1st of August. Is this when the dealer expects it to be delivered to them?

Hi Nick,
Yes we did. Only changed a couple of things.
i hate that they put the speakers under the table so relocated them to each end under the beds.
We also got an extra annexe light which they had on the annexe side, but I have relocated over to the off side of the van above the power and water inlet.

Hi BJ,
thanks for that. The speakers are in a strange place in my opinion. It's a shame they don't fit in the roof cavity.
Great to see more 14.44-4 Expanda's out there.
cheers

BJ,

We pick ours up on Wednesday, unfortunately though once you order it, time seems to slow right down. We are looking forward to the Caravan lifestyle now, we started in swags, then went to tents, then a soft floor camper trailer (which we thought was like a hotel), then we hired a Jayco last year to see what it would be like and we were sold. Having a young family we also opted for the 14.44.4 OB with bunks.

We got the extra water tank, HSW/Shower which is mounted on the back out of the way, TV/DVD just in case we get stuck inside (rain strategy), second gas cylinder, 100A battery pack and upgraded control panel with battery and water displays.

Get yourself a good note book and pen, I have spent the last couple of months reading through the forum and vanning magazines, making notes, and writing down little things I want to check when it arrives. Little bits like checking underneath protection of vital pipes and wiring, checking gas connections, stone guards etc, I remember these little issues from our hire van.

We are planning on putting some km's and nights away in the van not long after it arrives, heading to Arkaroola.

Congrat's on the purchase, as Nick says above, we our joining a greater following of mini-Jayco's

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply.
Would it be too much to ask for pics of where you HWS and external shower is located? We are seriously thinking of these being added.

BJ,

Ok hopefully this works, been trying to attach these photos for the past 30 minutes, my computer skills clearly aren't what they used to be.

So the heating unit is located front of the drivers side of the van, is dual gas or electric unit and sits under the dinette seat with water pump behind it, see photo7.

The shower itself comes out the back of the van, which is out of the way of everything and tucks away neatly and is locked away when not in use. You have hot and cold water controls, and then the shower head has an on of off toggle so you can set it and then turn it on and off as you like.

Hopefully this and the photo's make sense, I am really glad we got it, it seems to work really well. As mentioned before, I got the second gas cylinder and water tank to support this when we free camp.

It is raining here so my photos were from my phone pre-delivery, I will start up a more comprehensive van report when the weather improves and I can get a few more photo's, all my switches are up out of the way to inside the van.

Cheers

Paul

Ordered the Ampfibian on Friday and was delivered today.
got to admit, looks a very nice and solid unit.
We got the "Limited Edition" Rv02s which has a tag at the top to hang and a stainless steel security tag, to put either a chain/cable or padlock to. Am very happy. Will take a pic in the next day or two. Now to find a spot to start my stash of gear I want to whet before delivery.

Well the time is starting to tick down...
Got an email from our dealer today and they advised that is due off the line on Thursday. My question is, does anyone know how long I should expect to wait for it to be ready in Brisbane? Our dealer will call the transport company on Monday to get a better idea, but am hoping someone here may know. Is 3 weeks realistic for the delivery and for Brisbane Camperland to prep it for handover? Do they usually have to do much to the van before handover?

Starting to get like an impatient new dad!

I got my brother (electrician) to wire an extra 15amp circuit into the power box last week and all it has on it is the words Van.

Was thinking of doing that as well @Brad , but we have a 3yr old Honda gennie with the 10amp sockets, so would have to either make up a dodgy brothers lead or just do it right the first time. As we have kids and also value my own life and anyone around me for that matter, decided to go the Ampfibian.

Yeah... Not to mention you are more mobile with the Ampfipian than my house connection.

@Bmhdg76 When we got ours in May, it took 2 weeks for the unit to be shipped to Brisbane. They say it takes them a day to do the pre-delivery. They strip and set the brakes etc.
I am hoping for it to only be 2 weeks. Gives us an extra 2 weeks prepping for our first holiday in it down to Melbourne! Needless to say will have a few quick mods to do as soon as we get it so the more time I have the better!
