Hi well we have finally done it. Ordered a 22.68-1ob that is! Pick up Dec so a little bit of a wait but very excited.
A little bit of info about us. Family of 4 ( kids 6 & 9) from Wa. We started out in a tent then had a camper trailer built to our design and specs with hubby painting it and fitting it out and now we want to enjoy the day we arrive and the day we leave abit more with the easier set up. Thank you to everyone that has answered our questions so far and thank you in advance for answering the questions that will come.

The countdown is now on.

Cheers

Ask for a realistic ball weight. Every chance they will stamp a "max ball weight" of unloaded ball weight +10% of payload leaving you well short once gas, water and payload are added.
Mine is now 300kg after a figure much lower than that was stamped.

Hi Whittley.

Welcome.
You will love the new starcraft, it was the best decision we made.
Below is a list of the extras that we put in our 22.68-1

Double bunk
Cafe Style Dinette
Bigger fridge / freezer - 2 door
Roof hatch upgrade 500 X 700 to the front and mid hatches - This upgrade lets in so much more light - worth doing
Drifter control panel
3rd water tank - independent / completely separate to the other 2 tanks - sep filler.
water filter system to sink from 3rd tank only
Anderson plug direct to battery - for portable solar panel
External light off side - roughly where fridge is
External fold out table *Try posting a bit more so your post isn't boring* - under bedroom window and kitchen window (approx)
External hatch to under bunk storage
Delete supplied TV
External entertainment package
12volt - both bed cubby holes - main bed
12volt and 240 - near radio (in the shelf)
12volt and 240 in storage area under double bed near foot end near battery box
Shelving to all robes
Add shelf X 1 to cupboard Left of microwave
Add wire rack to Left side of cook top
Fit supplied reversing camera

Just a few added extras worth considering

I hope you have a decent tug as they are a heavy van once loaded up

I have a petrol 100 series cruiser and it does the job but I will be upgrading to a 200 series diesel once I become more financial.

Hi 4wdphil

We have a 100 series turbo diesel land cruiser to pull the new van but we are in the middle of getting a chip, inter cooler and exhaust so that will help with the pulling power so we should be ok.

I'm intrigued about the external hatch for under bunk access. We are getting the tri fold bunk on top then the dinette which converts to a bunk and have been told we can't do the external hatch. Do you have any photos of yours? We think by having the external hatch it will make access to the far dinette seat much easier rather than having to lift up the cushions etc all the time.

You have listed shelving to all cupboards. We were under the impression that the only hanging space was in the wardrobes next to the main bed area and that the wardrobe near the bunks etc were all shelved. We are wanting shelving ourselves will we need to specify that too?

We have just received our final order form from jayco is there anything on there we should be double checking?

Sorry for all the questions but we want to do it right the first time.

Cheers

Hi Whittley.
Our 100 series is a petrol and it is also on gas. It pulls well but does struggle up hills. It also has a limited range due to the gas tank being where the 2nd fuel tank was. We want to go further afield ( the rock and gibb river road) hence why we will be getting a diesel. You should have no issues with your 100 series.

In regards to the van.

We have fixed bunks and there was no issue getting a hatch. I can't see why they could not put a small external door there for you.
I highly recommend getting larger roof hatched like in the silverlines. They are awesome plus at night time when you close them they actually close the entire way not like the standard ones which leave a small gap for light to come through (design fault).

Shelving in the cupboards - We put shelving in the cupboards in the main bedroom and also down the back near the bunks (this is actually hanging space in standard form with 2 draws at the bottom).

The 3rd water tank is completely independent to the other tanks. It only goes to the sink via a filter and a 2nd tap. We wanted a completely separate drinking water supply so that if we needed we could fill the other 2 tanks with river water etc for washing and shower etc. I will be fitting a filter / pump system to the van to fill these 2 tanks in the near future. Someone on here has already done this mod which I will be copying.

All the extras we choose specifically for camping as we don't use caravan parks.

Before you sign off just check all the extras etc as they have a habit of changing the wording which can change what you have requested. We had this issue and we are in the process of getting them sorted with jayco.

External hatch for under the bunk at the rear plus the smaller hatch is the external entertainment system

We also put an extra shelf in the cupboard in the toilet /shower

Camping at the murray. You can see the larger hatches on the roof if you look closely.. BEST holiday in ages.

The water filtration system to be fitted.

Hope this helps

You wont regret it.

Hi phil

Thanks for all the info and photos. It certainly makes it easier when you can see it. Just a few more things to think about before we do our final sign off.

Cheers

Great to see the 22.68.1 setup on the banks of the Murray. Reading this post and looking at the pictures only makes me even more excited as our 22.68 is scheduled to roll off the production line 22nd of October, which will represent the end of a 20 week wait!

With the hanging space, it is a little narrow for coat hangers so our has been ordered shelved out front and back of van. Also, holiday clothes will do just fine on shelves as they will all be the folding type!
The only thing now is to decide where to go from newcastle for the first five day shakedown trip; overwhelmed for choice!

Hi Whittley we have just been home about an hour with our new Starcraft, yay super excited. Pick up went very well and after two hours of crawling through and under, turning everything on, putting up the awning etc we were very pleased with what we saw. The van looked immaculate and the only thing we found was a teeny smear of silicon that if you blinked you would miss it. We ordered our Starcraft early April so it's been a long wait but worth it.

Congrats you will love her :)

Hi @Sweet Pea how exiting. Ours too has been born but unfortunately we need to be content with a few photos as pickup isn't until the end of December.

Hi everyone, we have just ordered out first brand new van a Starcraft 22.68.1
With triple bunks. I am a bit confused as I asked for extra PowerPoint near stove area for my Thermomix and they told be no cant be done, also asked for pull out pantry. And can you get shelves in the robes? A bit disoppointed if you can as the sale rep told me no. Reading about the battery pack is it best to get it move to under the dinette
