Great Christmas Day sitting in a park eating prawn on thick buttered bread rolls followed by cherries. Christmas night, 10:00 power goes off, back on then off again. Phones all went off. 48 hours later power still off but phones came good about 6:00 tonight so we can now inform relos and friend interstate that we are ok but will probably lose a lot of food. I have started our van’s fridge but they don’t hold much.

Have been told maybe Friday before power restored but at least we can now communicate. A few pics of our village damage, fences down, pool fence gone, trees uprooted but most of the homes survived well. A few walls around drying areas have moved on a few homes and will need some work. Some pics of damage.

Power on last night about 11:15 after 48 hours. Lights came on, Christmas tree lit up, tv came on and fridge started up. A good night as we could put the fan on to sleep. Cleaned out the fridges, dumped a bit of food as Mrs CR is pedantic about frozen food thawing. Shower water remained quite hot but ambient temperature meant cold (cool) showers were welcome. Hopefully, life gets back to normal now.

Great news, Pity I didn't watch any news for about 4 days or would have made that offer way earlier, you wouldn't have even had to mow the lawns, though I could get my neighbour to lend his...........;)

During the big floods in the Lockyer Valley we lost power for a week, Fried the genny and was another 2 days till I got around the creeks to get another from work so had a big barbie to cook up the meat ......

Take care.............
